What is Kambo? (Sapo)
Kambo is an intelligent, spiritual, and detoxifying energy derived from the secretion of the two-colored frog, Phyllomedusa bicolor.
Known for its purgative and immune-boosting effects, it is often referred to as Vacina de Floresta, or "Vaccine of the Forest." Indigenous tribes in the Amazon have historically used this medicine to enhance hunting skills and for healing purposes.
Traditionally, this frog secretion, called "Kambo Medicine," was used to eliminate the dark energy known as "Panema," which Indigenous people believed to be the source of all physical and mental ailments. Today, Kambo has spread worldwide to support healing, spiritual growth, and research. Kambo/Sapo is scientifically proven not to be a poison.
Extensive international research has shown no toxic components in Kambo secretion! The frog secretion contains bioactive peptides, chemically verified in laboratories, which, when absorbed in a Kambo session, are integrated as natural elements of the body, initiating natural detoxification reactions.
We often combine Kambo with breathwork and yoga before and after sessions to ensure optimal preparation and post-treatment integration. Kambo also has a potent spiritual energy that, in alignment with universal understanding, can produce many wonders. You can read more about this under the Science section.
The Process
During the process, the secretion is mixed with water and shaped into small dots or "blots."
A small, superficial burn is made on the upper skin layer to allow the Kambo to enter the lymphatic system. Each experience is unique, although it usually begins with a gentle heat as the Kambo scans the body, moving into specific areas that spread through the tissues.
As the bio-peptides are activated in the body and the person receives the frog's DNA, the heart rate may increase, and facial swelling may occur, varying by the individual’s toxicity level. The cleansing effect is diverse, manifesting as purging, diarrhea, crying, sweating, yawning, or a sense of electricity as physical and energetic blockages are released from mind, body, and soul. Afterward, one may feel lighter, freer, and more attuned to their higher self. The gates are treated with Dragon's Blood (Sange de Drago), a reddish antiseptic, wound-sealing liquid from the Croton lechleri tree.
In the days or months that follow, people generally feel incredibly relaxed, with enhanced clarity, pain relief, and ease. Throughout the process, tools such as sound therapy and energy work are used to guide and protect you. Rapé and Sananga are also ceremonially administered with us here.

Science
Kambo has been part of the Western scientific scene for decades, contributing to groundbreaking research on many of the most widespread "incurable" diseases.
Research into Kambo's chemical composition has been ongoing since the 1960s, uncovering healing capacities in short chains of amino acids, known as peptides. These bioactive peptides affect gastrointestinal muscles and circulation, while stimulating the adrenal cortex and pituitary gland in the brain. Pharmaceutical companies have replicated these peptides, resulting in over 70 patents and numerous popular medications on the market today. However, none can compare to Kambo’s efficacy, as a full synthetic replication of frog secretion has not been achieved.
Given our knowledge of the primary peptides in Kambo, its effects are known to influence the following conditions:
Deep-seated toxins
Chronic pain
Opiate or painkiller addiction
Fever and infections
AIDS
Hepatitis
Lyme disease
Autoimmune diseases (notably Hashimoto’s)
Negative energies (traditionally known as "Panema")
Is Kambo Dangerous?
Kambo is not a poison! While undeniably an uncomfortable treatment, Kambo is also very safe when applied with care and precision. To date, there is no evidence that Kambo poses a threat when used knowledgeably. Improper application, however, can result in a delayed process after the Kambo session. Therefore, it’s essential to adhere closely to the following points:
A Comfortable Atmosphere: Creating a space where you feel at ease is essential. You need to be able to relax and let go during the Kambo session.
Consultation: The session should only proceed after a consultation in which all your questions have been addressed. This is also key to ensuring your relaxation and well-being.
Trust and Connection: Trust is the foundation of your well-being. You should be able to trust the practitioner fully.
Work with Kambo, Not Against It: During the session, you will vomit. We conduct a detailed water assessment following IAKP standards. View the vomiting as part of the detoxification process, and don’t try to resist it; otherwise, you may intensify your discomfort. Everything will be thoroughly explained before treatment, and I will guide you safely through the session.
Full Disclosure: Inform the practitioner about all your pre-existing conditions, any long-term medication, or other medications you are taking.
Have There Been Fatalities Due to Kambo?
Once again: Kambo secretion is not toxic. I am a member of the IAKP (International Association of Kambo Practitioners). We are thoroughly trained and adhere strictly to treatment and safety standards. To date, there have been no fatalities resulting from Kambo treatment. When used correctly, "Spiritual Frog Medicine" is very safe.
There is also no risk of overdose. The number and size of the gates, which absorb the frog secretion, are limited, preventing an excessive amount from being absorbed. Additionally, the practitioner proceeds gradually, initially administering only small amounts.

Bioactive Peptides
Italian scientist Vittorio Erspamer from the University of Rome began examining Kambo secretions in the 1980s and isolated the peptides as follows:
Phyllokinin & Phyllomedusine
Vasodilators that increase the permeability of the blood-brain barrier (for their own use and that of other active peptides). They also have antimicrobial and antifungal properties.
Caeruleins & Sauvagines
They contract the large intestine and bladder, cause tachycardia and a drop in blood pressure, and enhance sensory perception by stimulating the adrenal cortex and pituitary gland. They increase physical strength and have the ability to overcome pain, stress, illness, and fatigue. They improve digestion and possess analgesic properties.
Dermorphin and Deltorphin
Composed of seven amino acids. These peptides are 4,000 times stronger than morphine and 40 times stronger than endogenous endorphins.
Adenoregulin
Acts through adenosine receptors, which are being studied in connection with depression, strokes, and cognitive disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases.
Ceruleins
Accelerate gastric, bile, and pancreatic secretions and stimulate certain smooth muscles.
Rapé
A traditional snuff made from powdered tobacco and/or dried herbs and ashes from the rainforest.
More
Dermaseptin
Broad-spectrum antimicrobial peptides with lethal effects against fungal species (notably opportunistic filamentous fungi common in immunodeficiency syndromes), gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, yeasts, and protozoa. Dermaseptin B2 and B3 are being investigated for their cancer cell-killing effects (inhibiting angiogenesis of tumor cells with selective cytotoxicity).
Bradykinins
Similar to human bradykinin, these bradykinins are blood pressure-lowering, inducing vasodilation, contraction of non-vascular smooth muscle, and increased vascular permeability. They also appear to be effective in connection with inflammatory pain.
Bombesin
Acts on G cells in the stomach to secrete hydrochloric acid and stimulates pancreatic secretion, myoelectric intestinal activity, and smooth muscle contractility.
Tryptophyllins
Neuropeptides consisting of 4 to 14 amino acids.
Sananga
Sananga is a plant-based “medicine” made from the root of an Amazonian shrub, Tabernaemontana undulata.
